Dr. Mark Stamoulis

Dr. Mark Stamoulis, a native Rhode Islander, grew up in Barrington, and went to Brown University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1984. He graduated from the Tufts University School of Medicine in 1988 where he received the Hills Student Award for proficiency in small animal medicine and surgery.

Dr. Stamoulis completed a rotating internship in medicine and surgery and a residency in cardiology at the Animal Center in New York City. While there he received the Intern of the Year award in 1989 and the Veterinarian of the Year award in 1992. Dr. Stamoulis became board certified in veterinary cardiology the following year.

​

He has written numerous articles ranging from heart disease in ferrets and mynah birds to pacemaker implantation in cats. His professional interest include management of chronic congestive heart failure and congenital heart disease. Outside his work, Dr. Stamoulis enjoys coaching youth sports for his three children as well as playing hockey and golf.
